Dyeing fabric from food scraps is a fun and sustainable way to explore color and science in the kitchen. In this 4 hour long workshop, we will create a variety of swatches showing a range of color extracted from onion skins, different modifyers, a soy milk binder. Students will leave with new knowledge, conversation, and a small dyers notebook of their swatches with instructions to be able to take this practice home with them and start exploring the world of natural dyeing on their own.
More photos/examples/information coming soon of the process.
