Indigo dyeing is like no other dyeing experience - it’s a magical link between art and science!
In this workshop, students will learn different techniques used to create patterns on a garment of their choice. This is the ancient Japanese practice of shibori - using resists such as clamping, folding, & binding! Garments will then be hand dyed in organic individual indigo sugar vats alchemized by each student.
SPACE IS LIMITED to 5 PEOPLE.
REGISTRATION REQUIRED - Payment must be processed to complete your registration.
$50 for one 3 hour session
Sunday July 12th 1 pm - 4 pm
This is a small & intimate class with only 5 participants plus myself
Bring your own garment: Please make sure the fiber content is cellulose (cotton, linen, rayon, modal, hemp, bamboo, etc), or protein fiber (wool, silk, alpaca, etc.). Synthetic fibers WILL NOT dye. Please ask if you have any questions.
All other supplies, instructions, and PPE will be provided with registration fee.
Class is located in the Fiber & Dye studio off the back gallery at Art 634

IMPORTANT CANCELLATION INFORMATION:
For a full refund, cancellations must be made 72 hours (3 days!) before the class starts. In this case, you must reach out before noon on July 10th.
If something comes up last minute, (I know that life is like that sometimes!) I will honor half of your registration fee ($25) as a refund or you can keep your full registration fee ($50) and attend a class at a later date.
You are also welcome to transfer your registration fee to a friend or family member.
